Do you mean physically or emotionally? Physically = when she sits up and smacks her head on the ceiling or when her body weight is too much for the supports (this is more common with super low-end products).

Emotionally = mid to late teens if it is going to happen. As others have said, this is not a little girl bed. The colour of the bedding/furnishings will dictate the "little girl-ness" of this item.

The area underneath can be converted into a "cool lounge" for the teenage years. New bedding in the colour of teen angst (each person has their own colour scheme) and some large throw pillows and some privacy draping for the lower level and you have a pretty cool theme for several more years.

But don't make it so cool that she won't leave. As much as we love our children, we REALLY hope they move out at some point:-)

Good question. We deliver our full-size loft beds to adults who live in small spaces (e.g. studio apartments and dorm rooms) all over the world. We believe the "grow out stage" generally depends on personal preferences for children.

I’m 13 and I started outgrowing my loft bed when I was 11. And I still have it. I desperately want a normal bed. I keep hitting my head on the ceiling when I wake up. I can’t stand up straight underneath it. It’s really annoying getting up and down the ladder everyone morning and night where you could always forget something up there like your water bottle that you forgot to fill up. So you go up the ladder, grab your water bottle, go back down the ladder, fill it up, and go back up the ladder again. This is just my opinion. But I also do want to say that it was great when I was smaller! I use to love it! It’s a wonderful solution especially if you have a more compact bedroom. But now it’s just extremely aggravating.
