Need help to convert kitchen desk to counter...

Hi all
As you can see I have a kitchen desk which we want to convert into a counter height cabinet so that when we replace the countertops, we can have one long slate of quartz. We were hoping for suggestions on how to raise the height of it and how to bring it forward so that it is flushed with the other cabinet.
