Blue Spruce

last modified: 10 years ago

This tree is the corner piece of my privacy screen. It's a blue spruce, that while new to planting trees, I put a little too high in the hole. After a month in the ground, it started loosing needles and some of the branch tips dried out and died. It has now been in the ground for nearly a year.

It seems to have stopped dropping needles, and I cut off the dead tips, but now it's pretty goofy looking. My 2 questions are these. Is this tree going to recover and grow into something decent looking? And 2, if yall tell me to yank it, can I put something else in the same hole to maintain my corner coverage?
