Lovely Phals! I particularly like the yellow one. I wish I did better with my Phals. Maybe next winter I will put them on a heat mat to help them out.

WOW! Need "shades" for the strong, lovely coloured, first phal.

See a lot of buds on your "Jewel" orchids too. Mine are just about "done" .

I seem to get a new stem, every year.

inga, send some pictures of your orchids...

Happy phals!. Can you detect a scent from your yellows?

Sorry, the photos I took of my jewel orchid are horrible. I bought the plant, very small. The first year it bloomed with only one stalk, the second with two and this year I had three, that's why I wondered if they only grew so slowly, normally. May be I should give some fertilizer more often? I have it in a west window.

Try an east widow if available...

Inga, I grow mine in pretty strong light. Some direct but mostly shaded. I'm growing it in some miracle grow with mostly perlite and small bark. Mine was a small division given to me about 2 yrs ago. I was surprised at how many flower spikes it made.

I sort of neglect it because it grows under a tree. Snails started eating the leaves and I moved it on my patio about 6 months ago. It seemed happy there. I think I will keep it inside.

Jane

Thanks Jane, yours looks fab. I think repotting is needed. I only have south, west or a blank wall, north facing window sill. So it has to remain on the west window sill.

Thank you all, for your helpfull hints.

South is better than west...

Good growing! Beautiful
