i agree, i would definitely put the charlotte slate in your DR!

Dining room because chances are that you will spend more time in there in the evening, making for a more romantic and/or classy dining atmosphere. That's why the more expensive the restaurant, the less light :)

I agree with the darker for the DR. We have had navy blue in the past and now have chocolate. It is wonderful in the evening.

Aeree. Darker in the dining room. Creates a good ambience for conversation around a dinner.

SW silver mist is gorgeous! I am looking for a new color palette for my hall bath and I think it would look wonderful in there.

Dining room. First, it's smaller..smaller rooms usually benefit from being darker more. Second, it is going to be used mostly in the evening=more control of the lighting since it will be artificial mostly at some point=more atmospheric, as previous commenters already mentioned.

But try the samples first of course, and look at them during the day and during the night..that is to say, if you didn't have a chance to do it yet.

I think you can go either way, but my first thought would be darker in the DR. I have a deep blue grey (less green than your slate color) in my DR and have been very happy with it. My last house had a navy damask wallpaper that the PO put up in the DR. I think it was the only room we didn't change.

The silver mist is very pretty and I think it would be a good backdrop for prints and other colors -- which would make it nice for you LR. It would be pretty in a bathroom or bedroom too, but doesn't seem limited to those rooms like some pastels do.

Something to consider -- if you did go darker walla in your LR, you would want upholstery to be lighter. That might not be what you want to live with if you have pets and/or children (young or the adult version). Have we sold you on darker in the DR yet? ;)

Do the two colors go together? I can't tell from online pictures whether Silvermist is more gray or greenish.

Late to the comments: I have BM Charlotte Slate as my exterior house color and love it. FYI, in "full light", it is more blue than gray. One thing to consider: I used a very light gray trim although it "reads" white next to this color; any white I tried looked very stark and harsh.
