If you put up a clean light backsplash maybe that would help a little?

I agree, I would try painting a very light silver/gray?

It's beautiful granite. I think you have the cool colors of the granite working against the warm colored wall (it's reading plum on my screen). If you aren't planning a tile backsplash, I'd try painting it a cool color. Depending on your personal style, it could be a grey from the granite, a subtle light blue, a retro pale green, or even a red with a blue undertone if you like bold colors. If you are tiling the backsplash, I'd go with a basic white subway tile. The floor tile is problematic too as it seems to be beige with brown grout? That's going to clash with black/white/grey of your granite. Any plans to change it in the future?

I think the granite is lovely, but does stand out quite a bit in your current kitchen as a bit of an odd duck. Would you consider painting your your lower cabinets a charcoal grey to pick up on the grey in the counter? This would lessen the contrast there, and I do agree that a lighter backsplash (I might even go white there so it blends better with your upper cabinets), is the way to go. You could even replace your cabinet hardware with metallic handles as they would add pop and polish! Hope this helps.

I agree with comments by renski . I see your granite/ sink/ faucet and stove as uber modern but the hardware on your cupboards is very traditional farmhouse style.
To unify all your elements - first change the hardware: you're lucky that your shaker style cabinets work equally well in modern or traditional kitchens.i think you need handles that either are industrial like your faucet or contemporary black lacquered ceramic or metal to balance the strength of the granite pattern. I like the idea of pulling the deepest grey from the granite for the wall colour, again that colour would read modern thus balancing the feel of elements making it cohesive. You could have glass subway in a similar gray then, throw down an geometric area rug with gray/ black / white & tan if your floor is tan. Don't worry too much your granite is a very funky focal point - add a few bright, fun posters on the adjacent wall to bring up the modern factor and you'll have a unique fun space.

All good points for certain. Not sure how long you've had the counters installed but I would suggest you just "be" with them for awhile. They are beautiful, it may just take a little time to adjust.

I think it looks fine with your cabinet color & style, but I agree with potter99 about changing out your hardware.

I love the counters. I think the issue is the floor. How about changing it to wood inspired tile?
It's difficult to tell if the white in the granite matches the white of the cabinets. The cabinets are reading a cream white and the granite a cool pure white. If that is so, the cabinets need to be matched to the white of the granite. The floor is also appearing to be cream color. That needs to be replaced with either wood or a dark (charcoal) tile. Agree that a tile backsplash will help complete the look.

Live with it for awhile. Everything else is very plain so it will just take some getting used to it. If you do a backsplash just use plain off-white subway tile with a matte finish & grout with the same color as the tile.

The granite IS busy...but I think it would look a lot better if you paint your cabinets a grey color to match the granite (or even black)...then you can do a white or light grey backsplash (like subway tiles). And change the cabinet hardware to a modern handle that is brushed silver (like the stove).

Relax, don't worry. You will have to wait a little while just to get used to it. I would suggest you paint the wall behind the stove a silver gray...the dark color doesn't work with the granite. And add a backsplash to complement the stone. I hope you have a piece of the granite to take with you to the tile store. It really is pretty granite.

I think it will grow on you. But on my screen it looks like the walls go with the floor and the cabinets go with the counter. So... hmmm, if this were My kitchen ...

If the floor has Any grey in it, I would use it as the grey color to paint my grout. (lighter than the tile maybe?) Time consuming? Yes, but cheap, oh yes. But also permanent. I've done it and was really amazed at how that one thing changed the look of my tile floor completely. People thought I had a new floor. Look for grout sealers that are a color, there are many to choose from.

Also, I would do a subway tile, or other style tile back splash all white to match the white in the granite, that will unify all the shiny bits.

Then I would consider painting only the lower cabinet a nice dark grey to blend with your granite. You could change the hardware but it might not be necessary. You can play with these ideas as they are only paint & see if that makes the granite more pleasing to your eye. But again, with some minor tweaks, I think you will grow to love it.

too soon to fret and second guess. leave it a while and you'll be used to the pattern and then you can go forward with surrounding colors.

Yes, please don't second guess, it's drop dead gorgeous. You've gotten lots of good ideas in the posts, so just take your time about how/what to tweak. PS, Whoever said it looks like a zebra has apparently never seen a zebra, so please disregard their opinion. Your granite is stunning.

Is that silver waves granite? I may be biased, but I think it's gorgeous! I don't, however, love it with the purple backsplash wall. I agree with others who suggested changing the color or adding tile in its place.

I don't like busy countertops, but I think yours is beautiful. Nix the dark wall behind the stove. Lots of good ideas here. Never second guess yourself, it gets you nowhere.

The problem with many backsplashes is that there's no good place to end them. This is one of the most interesting and creative ways I've seen. It looks like it could be the far left side of your wall with the window. Think about this as a solution to your backsplash.

Your granite is fabulous. I hope you grow to love it along with the right backsplash.

Your kitchen is screaming out for a nice tile backsplash!! Just went thru this same thing before Xmas with my brother-he replaced his counters with the same black and white granite and believe it or not it's hard to work with! If u have a piece of your granite take it with u when u go shopping -it makes it easier because the black and white is a very "cold" shade to work with against the warm shade of your cabinets. Lots of backsplash tile options out there tho so take your time! And if you're not a tiler then a backsplash is best place to start. From pics it looks like it's a small space so just try watching a few videos on YouTube -that's how I started-and if I can do it anyone can! Paint out the dark color u have there now with something light and bright to match your cupboards and then tile away!! Easy Peasy! Love to see the after pics!

You need to look at your kitchen in its entirety. Your cabinets are white with black handles your backsplash is also a very dark color the flooring is unseen but my guess is that it is also a dark color. The countertop is black and white try to mix things up to add interest in color and texture also geometric patterns may be useful.
Consider using stone wood tile cork and other materials with colors other than black and white. Be sure to sycronize the colors and add accents. Your kitchen will begin to take on a character of its own and will look very attractive. Also try to keep things simple don't have the elements competing with each other but rather blend as a single unit

Yeah the wall color was just from before I thought the same thing with the back splash and the hardware. I really think those two things will help. I got plain white subway tiles (in the picture) and silver ish hardware. Floor would just be to expensive right now. All of your comments were very helpful and made me feel so much better about it. Thank you so much

Love the granite.subway tile backsplash in white or light gray. Change door handles to brushed nickel vertical.Ikea has them and they are reasonable!

They are even cheaper and really high quality on Overstock ...

Thank goodness! Finally someone has installed a non-generic granite...and it's gorgeous!

Stunning. Thank you for remembering to show your finished picture. I hope you do not mind that people will be putting this into their idea books.

Isn't it funny how strongly we are affected by color? The difference is amazing.
