Are there any considerations I should keep in mind when selecting a rug? I'd like it to be cozy and comfortable to sit on if need be. And any colour/pattern suggestions are so appreciated! Thanks all!

West elm makes a beautiful navy sofa in a midcentury style. I would add an arm chair or two and a coffee table as I assume this will be the location of family movie nights and you'll need A place for snacks. I would suggest grey, navy and accent with a little white and a pop of orange.

Go plush with the rug. The decorating is really pretty, I love it, but it is a cool feel. You'll want the rug to be plush and cozy. Shag is back in from the 70's. I have one and love it.

Yes, it's navy that I saw in person at IKEA last January & it's a beautiful color.

@susan2494 actually i think I'll stick with the large square ottoman you suggested earlier, maybe something solid so things don't start to get too busy?

@er612 thanks! I think I like the white ottoman and matching pillow, I'd like to try and mix in some of the orange that was suggested earlier as well, maybe the orange chair and some orange throw pillows could tie it together?
