I know this may not be considered landscaping, but it involves plants so I figured I'd suggest it, but some window boxes would be super cute on your house! A raw cedar would really be cute!! I'm not the biggest help on this in words. I'd kind of have to be there. I'm more of a hands on kind of person! Haha! But honestly, I live the house and it has a ton of potential when it comes to landscaping!! Please post the finished product once you get some more help! What kind of plants were you thinking?

Thank you Jonah! I am more of a hands on person too - couldn't even think about what I wanted until we pulled out the bushes that were already there! I love hydrangeas and was thinking some white ones in the front - we have blue by the driveway and in the back yard so wanted to change it up a bit. Love the windowbox idea too - more projects :)

With the light colored house--a real beauty--what about some bright color? A sweep of Knockout roses n red or dark pink would look fabulous. A bright cottage garden would also be pretty, but a lot more work

Hydrangeas are my FAVORITE!! Another thing you might do are boxwoods. Those are really popular right now, and I think they are gorgeous!

We have a similar looking home in a similar location! But sorry to say I am terrible with names of plants (and gardening in general). I do know, though, that among other things, we have added hydrangeas and knockout roses to our front garden to give it color, and both are doing well. We also have day lilies and hostas (that grow like crazy), and some other bushes that provide just greenery ... I think some azaleas too, oh and some daffodils and such for early spring color. I know that sounds like a lot and kind of busy, but it's not, we do have a bit more space than you though (it depends how far out you want to take the landscaping though). Consider color, especially color by season, and also height, maybe a tree or two (but not too close to the house).

You might also want to do a lawn treatment just to make it more lush, top soil and over seed perhaps

Love the idea of some knockout roses for color. And there are some trees just outside the photo that you can't see and there is not shade from yet because its so early in the year. Thanks all!

Boxwood hedges are a bit formal. I picture hydrangeas along the foundation, a few maples including a Japanese maple. Bulbs in several areas, roses and azaleas...informal, not structured. Maybe something low along the walkway. Perennials and bulbs will need less work than annuals. The house is traditional and beautiful.
