I love the stag's head on jglawson65's mantel. That, plus the stone, give it a lodge feel. To me, stag's head pointed upward raises the eye to the two-story ceiling.

Lainie, I have problems keeping plants alive. Lol. So need to be easy to care for. But do like fern idea next to hutch. I also think pic frame looks better on books. Glad we found a place for it in room. Hopefully the items I didn't use can be used in other rooms when i start them. And like that have ideas to change it up. Now to get the stair railing going...I've been waiting a long time. Lol

I just received my white paper flowers stems with bulbs from Magnolia Market and arranged them in my big ceramic pot with handles on dining room table....maybe you could do something like it in a lower bowl for dining room...I just love them...add dry foam cover with green moss and push in paper flowers....done!

Looks like the large white florals are back in stock at Magnolia!!!!

I just saw those paper whites, too....love the simplicity and think I may measure for my table. LOL

I just love them! The stems are 16"-18" tall that includes the bulb.

Home Interiors, thanks for your help! My mom loves those pic frames from pottery barn you found. Sent her pics of room today. Anyway, I had to laugh when you mentioned that mirror again. Lol. Who knows maybe someday. I just love you floral arrangement for dining table! Very cool! And that chandelier. Thoughts for my dining centerpiece were to make short and chunky instead of tall and slim like I had. Something I don't need to remove if have company and want to see their faces. Thought about using bowl in this pic(one of my dishes) and making stems short. Using foam to hold them in. Put my succulents in for example. Had thought about magnolia stems(except they're not available right now) or maybe even the large white floral. Abbyjean mentioned. Oh and I removed my salt and pepper shakers from tray. Lol. Also had placemats set up for an example of a short runner if I need one. Thanks for checking in!

Abbyjean, you should place an order! Lol. Anyway, magnolia stems were what we were originally thinking about...did say out of stock and now it's not on website. But I also like the large white floral you're talking about. Never thought to use. Even thought magnolia for dining and white floral for my office.

Magnolia website says paper bulbs are 24"H. But maybe that includes the base. I wouldn't be able to shorten those.

I feel like the tray is holding you back from doing something larger...a low rustic tin bucket or a low wooden bowl with the magnolias or the white paper flowers would be wonderful...round would look great....I feel like you have to many small items...just a thought to keep in mind. Also one larger item is much easier to move off table when the space is needed.

I think they are including the stake under the bulb to push into foam. I used 6 and the tallest flower stem including the bulb (not the stake) is 18"

I think the bulbs would be too tall for your table, even though they work for the table just shown. How does that even make sense?? I like the shorter idea for you and sorry, thought it was the white that was out of stock instead of the magnolia. Wonder why they are no longer shown unless it means they will not carry them any longer.

I wanted to make it clear that her posting does not represent how I felt about your project . I just wanted to know . This effected everyone. I do hope you get an apology . This has been a great project and I have loved all the ideas , and help from the Houzzers .I'm sure you know how much I have loved this fireplace outcome and room and I'll continue to keep up with it . Your home is going to be beautiful when it is all done . I have enjoyed this fireplace transformation, and you will have to post the before and after !

The paper flowers are really pretty. I like the idea of both types of Flowers for the table either one and being short and chunky. I like the tray and the table runner also. Looking forward on what you will choose on that. Everything looks good together the way you have things a nice flow with your eyes around the room. To me it is perfect the way things are .

Ok ladies, I've read all your comments and snapped a few pics. The original idea was to use shortened magnolia stems in green bowl pic below. I do like the height or could make a tad taller. Also I could use the large white floral. Both somewhat similar. I took pics with two bowls in case one was to small. I kinda like the two bowls look. These bowls also come in a cream color like small plate shown. Or a larger cream bowl. I like that it's simple and short. Really in person it looks good with or without a runner. I do want to try and use my tray I had made for table. It's 10"W and 16"L between the end handles. I've also looked for other vase options. Somewhat of what was suggested by Home Interiors. Having trouble finding something short and round. I'll post those pics in next comment. Oh, side note...we use this table almost daily. Thanks!

Here are few more ideas. But these will make it taller. I would still cut stems. With one item in center of tray I could handle a little height but not much. I want to see across table without moving vase unless I really need to. So something maybe 13"H or so total may be ok.

Pat, found them on Etsy. I love etsy. Only downside is shipping cost and time. My tray on dining table is off of etsy.

There is also this short white jug vase from magnolia. It's as tall as it is wide (7 3/4"). Of course that size is out of stock. But I'm sure will be back. And here's a pic of white floral in metal. I'm also still good with just using my green bowls.

love this white pitcher idea!! The tulips work perfect! Add some greens for the season.

Here is a quick bouquet I put together...maybe it will help guide you with your magnolias and some extra greens for your table.

supplies

Loop greens stem

Bunch together flowers and leaves into a round bouquet twist with green wrapped wire.

Place in container

I added a hydrangea leaf( just pushed it in) that was left over into flowers.

Done!

Still like your bowls the best. If using foam you can get some height with the magnolia stems & it will be fluffy.

Let the stems protrude from the bowl high enough to give the height that you want.

Love the first white jug...but it would need something very frilly and soft in it..just like picture...not sure the magnolia stems would be the best choice....the olive branches would work nicely.

So a thought I have is to use green bowls with magnolia stems...if I have to I can go to local florist with help arranging them. Lainie had suggested. Magnolia stems, white jug vase and olive stems all back in stock! So I'm wondering what to order. I'd like to change things up at times. I've also had a suggestion to get some ivy or something live to use on table. Deciding if I should use one or two green bowls for magnolias. Bowls measure 6"W at top and 3" base. Not sure how many magnolias I'd need per bowl. Website says they're 7"W and they have two flowers and one bud. No idea if they can be spread out. Or I could even do one bowl and the jug vase together. More decisions. Lol.

Olive branches in white jug....

If you are getting outdoor plants, please have them suggest a plant and pot for the table. Tell them the sun locations and the height and maybe something spreading, AND EASY to survive, and I think it would be great right now.

Hi Rebecca, I found the website and the painting. Thank you so much. I love it!! I have bought 6 colors of paint and still not sold on any of them! So frustrating and expensive. I use Sherwin Williams paint which I love, but they can match other companies colors as well. When you get time I would love to know what colors you went with. BTW I noticed on FU website they have their own line of paint. Not too many colors yet but I bet they will be successful in that area as well. I tried to find those little glass vases and no luck. I'll check back with them again later. Can't wait to find time to check out your office! Thanks!
