Best Paints for painting cabinets?

I painted my cabinets last year with CIL Smart3 and it really didnt give me that good of a finish. What is the process to repaint them? Should I strip the paint off and prime and paint? What are some good products for this job? I want to minimize brush marks, I was looking at Sherwin willliams proclassic but Im reading that its not good for brushing. Also is rolling with a foam roller better? Last time the foam roller left little bubbles and caused a grainy final texture, I want something smooth and as close to a spray finish as I can. Also I will not have them sprayed as it is out of my budget.

The lower cabinets will be this colour:

Any ideas on what colour would go good with it for the top cabinets? Im thinking either an offwhite or a taupe greige type tone like this:

Remember you are seeing pictures from 10' away and no close up detail pics. Painting cabinets is a very difficult job. If you don't want to see any brush strokes and aren't going to spray them don't paint your cabinets it isn't going to happen.

For a very easy quick redo that will last a couple years try General Finishes Milk Paint. There is no other paint that sticks and lays as flat as it does. You can leave as is or use one of their clears over it. You will not get a better looking no brush mark finish without being a pro or have spray equipment. It can be touched up, recoated, sanded without balling up, etc. It is the easiest paint out there.

One of the best little rollers are the cheap 2" ones from HD. Dirt cheap and they work. Change them often as they loose their nap quickly. Pick up a Purdy brush and a brush cleaning brush and it will last a lifetime.

wannabath, have you used the GF milk paint? Does it do anything to fill oak grain? Thanks!

Google this product. I've never used it but it has great reviews and is very inexpensive so can't hurt to try it.

I just repainted mine and we sanded them( not a crazy amount) just enough to smooth it out and give the new paint something to grip on. We used mini rollers and used the sherwin pro classic. Love how it all turned out.

The SW Pro Classic gets a lot of good reviews. If you can find the product "XIM", it does what the Floetrol does, only better! Either one is well worth the cost as it goes a long ways!

Fine Paints of Europe hollandlac satin or brilliant. Be sure to use their whole system.

Put a final coat without sanding.
