Ahhh......little Iseli pots :-)) Can't go wrong with them if you want a nice assortment of dwarf conifers at a reasonable cost!

Yes, they had a lot of Iseli plants

oh how i remember those days ... congrats ....

now lets get you up to speed on latin names ... use them.. especially if you spend the money to make name tags ...

e.g. .. white pine = Pinus Strobus .... and that tells me everything i have to know about it ... then you add .. in quotes.. the cultivar name 'Angel falls' ..

which gives us P. strobus 'Angel Falls'

please figure out how to manipulate your ID info.. for your location .. so i dont have to ask you.. every time... where are you ???

i am wonder if you are the ARkansas guy???

    do you need planting info??/

just an aside .... any pot like tht.. can not be in the sun ... in the heat of summer ... just in case you dont get these planted ... or buy more in summer ... its a root heat issue ...

    congrats again ..

    ken

ps: do you know about winding roots.. and how to deal with them???

Thanks Ken, I changed the profile and yes, I am the Arkansas guy. When I make tags I will use those names. Just wanted to get the list on here so took names off the nursery receipt to save time. As far as the roots go, I know to untangle them. Is there more to it? Also is it correct not to amend the soil with anything when planting these?

Oooooh nice! That's a great assortment. My fav is 'Sparkling Arrow'. Your 'Spiralis' reminds me that I need to add a Cryptomeria. Share a photo or two when you get them in the ground. Exciting!

Picea orientalis 'Tom Thumb' can be a tricky one for siting in just the right location. It will have the best color in a sunny location but too much sun at a young age will cause it to burn. Too little sun and it will be less gold.

    Happy planting.

Thanks for the info Garen. I will be creating 2 large beds over the next 2 weeks so will post pics when done.

Picea orientalis 'Tom Thumb' in your neck of the woods will need to be screened the 1st year when planted in full sun as it needs to be to hold color.

I know Ken said not to add anything to the soil when I plant all the conifers I recently purchased. I just had 2 large beds created with metal edging but need to add some soil to raise the level a little plus I would like to mound it in the middle. Should I just get cheap topsoil from Lowes? The man making the beds for me wants to add peat moss but I did not think that was a good idea. Any suggestions?

no peat moss,,, cheap bags of top soil works fine
