0-33 and AMPLE TOMATOES from Tatiana's Tomatobase are first time plantings for me this year. I wanted to report to the tomato community the results I have discovered so far with these two varieties that, I think, are really unusual.

I tried an experiment with growing tomatoes in my covered window well this winter. Almost all the tomatoes I tried were cherry tomatoes and most were greenhouse/outdoor tomatoes. The conditions out in my window well were rugged at best. Temps dropped well below 50 degrees most days. Some days there were temps outside in the low teens at night. They all survived and most of them bloomed. I tapped all the tomato stems every few days when it was warm enough to open the plastic cover. However, the only tomatoes to set fruit are 0-33 and AMPLE. The interesting thing is, both of these plants were started over a week BEHIND the others. AND both of them are still in their 22 ounce starting cups and haven't even been transplanted into larger pots! 52 days from starting seeds, they have fruit set, with very limited sunlight and cold temperatures in a cup. In my limited experience of 30 years of starting tomato seeds, this is unusual. What do you think?

I guess the flavor in the end will tell the tale. Is anyone else growing these besides Roper and me?
