You don't want too close to the home- you may need to paint one day. At least leave enough room to walk behind it. 3-6'? Or more. Later you can plant small things under it.

Make sure no pipes run underground. If you spot a pipe dipping underground...be careful.

Thank you for the comment. I got scared of what would be the final outcome of such a big palm, I dug it out. Now, I don't know what to do with the palm. This palm grows up to 80 feet. I don't have any room on my yard, unless I plant it in front of my home, the front yard, some where close but not that close to the curb.

Give it away or dump it. They make terrible potted palms. Craiglist it maybe?

In general palm roots are rather weak. Never seen one damage a curb, even a giant Phoenix (have seen them envelope a curb and incorporate into their root ball, but rarely actually do any damage). But the palm itself will push hard against whatever it's next to if squished into or against something, as it develops girth (at a fairly young age... once it gets its adult thickness, it does not grow any thicker, just taller).
