Hosta from full shade to full sun! Trees gone...

Hi Gardenwebbers,

In front of my Metrowest home, I have three seperate areas where daffodils and other spring bulbs are underplanted by an unnamed white and green hosta. The hosta would emerge just as the daffs go by--all that lovely dying foilage would be hidden by hosta's fresh healthy leaves. Genius, right? For several years this worked like clockwork in full shade. With all the trees gone :-( It is now full sun! Now what? Last year the hosta really got crushed by the full sun and was yellowed and beat up. Looks like I'll have to replace the hosta with something else. But what? Any ideas? At first I thought Nikko-blue hydrangea, but those really look best with partial shade. Is there a hosta that LIKES sun? Need your help! All suggestions appreciated...
