We need to choose tile for the floor, shower, shower pan and surround for our drop in tub. I'm debating a wood tile floor in a staggered pattern or possibly a herringbone like this:

I'm running into problems with how to tile the drop in tub if it is butting up against a herringbone pattern. Should I forget the herringbone? Should I do cream tile in the shower or grey? What size? I don't want things to be too busy and am going for a transitional look.
