I came here looking for Amy too. Hope she is okay. Newson6 has chopper video of the funnel cloud on their webpage and The Weather Channel said at least 9 injured persons were transported to the hospital. I hope Amy and her family are okay. Maybe the internet service is down there or the power is out? I'm sure she will check in when she can because she knows we'll be worrying about her.

Amy, I'm so glad you are okay (and the dog and the cat and the greenhouse, and presumably your DH is okay as well?). I hope the garden is okay.

I don't know where all the tornadoes in NE OK were tonight because I was trying to watch TX and OK both and it was hard to keep up with all the warnings. I hope Dorothy and Carol and everyone else up there in NE OK is safe and sound, in or out of their safe place.

Guess this is just the first of our "check-in" threads for the 2016 storm season! Glad you and your family appear to be okay!!!!

I was looking at the NWS-Tulsa webpage and saw the Tornado Warning in SW KS and couldn't help noticing it seems to be tracking towards Joplin, MO, which just leaves a sick feeling in my stomach. I hope we don't see Joplin go tornado warned. Like Moore, OK, they have suffered far too much already.

I cannot believe we have, like Paula said, a tornado check-in thread already. It seems early in the year for that. The weather this year just seems to be rushing straight ahead as if it cannot wait for the calendar to catch up with it. All the early heat and weather craziness is making me feel uneasy.

Thanks guys. DH is at work, at the airport. They send them to shelters, but I haven't heard from him. Son's girlfriend works off 76th further west and she was texting me since they had been sent to a shelter area. It might have gotten closer to her than me. Stone Canyon neighborhood is just southwest of me. Some of the homes there were damaged, but the elementary school was was not damaged. Looks like Turley/North Tulsa had some damage, too. Much of the time it was on the ground it was in unpopulated areas. It continued on to Claremore and passed over Hwy 75, 169 and 44 and maybe the turnpike.

Glad you and your family are OK. We have friends that live near you and I have a couple employees that do also. It could have been a lot worse for sure.

I really have to complain about something. I'm watching channel six who has a helicopter with a camera right on the tornado live. They are calling out streets it's crossing and everything. Then the damn severe weather alert changes the screen blue and show NWS alert. I realize the do that on all channels to inform those not paying attention but why why why do they cover the local stations. Same damn thing last year. This is on Cox cable. Our rabbit ear TV didn't do that.

This is Carol and we are fine. We covered a few things because of the hail warnings, but had only a little very light rain. At one time we had storms on 3 sides of us, but thankfully we were in the doughnut hole again.

So glad to hear that Amy escaped. Luckily we had no tornados or even severe wind here. UNluckily we only got 2/10th inch of rain and we need rain. We were at my parents east of Stilwell yesterday and it rained heavily there as we were coming home. My daughter lives in Tulsa south of the area hit by tornados and a friend near Collinsville. Neither suffered damage.

Mksmth, my cell phone gave me a weather alert about half an hour after the storm passed. I was also annoyed by the blue screen. Anybody know how to stream a local channel to a phone or tablet? Must be a way, but I couldn't find it as I was sitting in the bathroom with irritated cat and terrified dog. If power had gone out it wouldn't have mattered. Glad Soonergrandmom and Mulberryknob are ok. I have about 7/8" in my rain gauge this morning. I think my son, a mile and a half north of me got more rain and hail. I was close to the "hook" while the majority of the wide heavy thunderstorm was north of me. There is a spectacular picture on a facebook page called Tornado Kings. Amy, glad you are ok. My son and family live in Ranch Acres. I texted them at almost 11 and they sent me a picture they took of the tornado about a mile from their house.

It was still light enough that there are some pretty spectacular pictures. I am glad it didn't happen at rush hour since it crossed so many roads.

Geez, A lot of good that text alert did. Channel 6 was streaming live on their website. Not sure about their app because I dont have it. I just pulled up their website on my phone and they had a link to watch live. It was about 15-20 seconds behind live coverage. Not sure about the other locals. I prefer KOTV 6 because of the helicopter views. The blue alert only effected our TV that was on Cox cable. Our over the air TV was not covered up. I guess that tells me I need to put an over the air tv in our safe spot if we every have to hide it would good until we lost power. It really stinks that they did away with over the air analog TV signals. I used to have a little batter powered tv that was perfect for that. You could probably use some battery back up system.

I guess I didn't see the live streaming link. I had their radar up, but it wasn't live, it was like 10 min behind. I have all the equipment for converting broadcast signals for old tvs (I have 2 that need a converter box). But then you have to have an antenna which may or may not get a good signal in bad weather. Oh well, there's always radio ;)

Glad everyone is ok. Been there done that May 20 2013. Yes, it is to early for check in threads. We got a brief shower here in SW OKC, need a lot more.
