I like this picture for inspiration in the entry, not to exactly copy it but it reflects your home. Not sure how long that wall is but I would do a open table with or without drawers, mirror or artwork, a lamp, and some plants on the table. On the opposite long wall, you can hang some pictures, like a gallery wall.

For the TV console, yes it needs to be refinished, it has a great shape to it and it looks like a nice piece! I would suggest a larger tv and wall mount it, there's kits now that you cut a hole in the drywall behind the tv and console and fish the cords through so you don't see them. Then hang candle sconces on the wall on each side and add some accessories to the top of the console.

I would add a round mirror above the fireplace and leave the toparies, simple and symmetrical.
