After last year's failures... what to do?

I have limited space for tomatoes, I plant them in a flower bed, have room for about 6 plants. I have always had great luck, luscious foliage, little to no disease and have been rewarded with bumper crops of wonderful sweet beautiful fruits.... till last year. I try to vary the plants, just for fun, try different varieties. Last year I planted Big Boy's, Better Boy's, Rutgers and one other, I can't remember but they were all Bonnie plants I bought at Home Depot. I had no trouble with the plants themselves but I swear they were all mislabeled!.... every single plant except for one produced Roma's. Has anyone else had this happen? If they were not mislabeled what could the explanation be?....

Don't buy Bonnie's. Go to a local garden center.

I agree. Patronize your local garden center or start from seed if it's not too late for your area!

Some people think it is fine to let their kids run loose through the garden center while they chat or shop. The kids think it is great fun switching plant tags. Great fun for those in the business. :-(

I get them when there is almost a full tray. And i get from the back.

Never have had a wrong plant. But then I buy no more than 2 or 3 plants from nurseries.

Check for local plant sales that are held by local gardeners/farmers. My local cooperative extension holds one every year. Then usually there are festivals in neighboring towns. The only problem is that they can be far and few between. The bonus is that you usually get more of a variety to choose from and the varieties usually do well in your area.
