Here's my dilemma: my kitchen cabinets don't go to the ceiling. There's about 18 inches of space. What can I do with decor that is modern and fresh without looking like the 90's up there?

Day 4 Question: I have a design dilemma. My husband and I bought a new construction home. I prefer the natural color of the white oak floors just installed. My husband wanted the durability and long life that only a poly oil based finish affords; he refused a water-based finish. The oil-based made the floors orange. They are not only orange, they're bright orange! I hate the color because I know that it goes poorly with the (grayer) color scheme (intended). -Natalie

I just bought some navy blue and white ikat bedding to use in a bedroom that currently has white walls and pecan chest and armoire, no headboard. What color of wall and accent color(s) do I want. I haven't a clue. I have no clue on a headboard either, but I'm hoping for inspiration!

thank you very much Marilyn. Everyone agrees the table is the problem. sorry, I don't have an instagram account. I have looked and looked and agree that a darker table top is necessary. I was considering using RLauren metallic oyster for the china hutch with RLauren marquis grey on the back of the hutch. I agree the table is the problem no matter what I do with the chairs. The zebra chairs are not silver, just bleached and whitewashed. The silver below was the idea for the chairs. Anyway, I agree with your table analysis. Sorry also, that it took me so long to get here. I have many issues, always and trying for a refinance too right now.
