Reading the link Pam kindly provided will introduce you to a concept that will help you with all your container plantings. There ARE soil recipes there, but what's more valuable is understanding how much impact a favorable/unfavorable balance of air and water in the soil has on plant health/yields and your growing experience.

Miracle-Gro potting soils are widely perceived as being much too water-retentive for consistent or consistently good results.
