Is this considered a repot ?

last modified: yesterday

Changeout of potting medium to a bit more finer bark to my super gritty mix for some more moisture retention

If I literally lift out a 30G root ball,....roots holding the potting medium for the entire volume-pot shape, can literally shake out 80% of the gritty mix and then backfill it back with a more finer mix.

The top 8 inches or so of this rootball is more broken down and remained in place. Did not *shake out*

In the world of gardening terminology, is this considered a -repot-.

I can see how some potential for some fine feeder roots may be damaged or not by the -shake out-, but aside from that, no pruner/hand trowell/cut/shortening of any roots during this process occured.
