Wormwood house exterior

Hi Houzzers! We bought this house 4 years ago. It has this yucky wormwood siding/facade stuff nailed all across the front, which i didn't like to begin with, but now it is warping and the paint is peeling off so it is time to make a change. Photos below.

I would like to remove it but not sure what to put in its place. Also wondering what colors we should consider for the house to look nice against the brick walkway. I'm honestly not even sure what this color is that's on it right now. Grayish beige? With blue on the wormwood? Only part i like is the white trim. We are planning to remove the lawn and do California native landscaping, succulents, etc., in case that matters re the color. We're in Culver City, CA.

Thanks very much for any help you can offer - this is our first house and i've never done anything like this before, feeling a bit overwhelmed!

(Note - ignore the potted agaves, they are just temporary - cuttings from a friend's yard that I am rooting to plant somewhere in our future landscaping! :-) )
