Don't know about six months, but suspect they should still be okay. When they're fresh they germinate quite fast. Once dried they take a lot longer. So expect a bit of a delay.

I pulled my last dying papaya over a year and a half ago and I still get little trees popping up around my yard under where fallen fruit hit the ground. I'd say viability is quite long.
