I'm not altogether sure that is a Morel, a look a like possibly.

Mushrooms grow where conditions favor their growth, soils with high levels of organic matter that are fairly moist and most often I have found them growing in a stand of hardwood trees, seldom in a garden.

False morels can be toxic so you do want to be sure of what you have.

Definitely a morel, which are quite common in western Washington. They tend to develop symbiotic relationships with various tree species and are in no way an indication of any soil issues to be concerned about. If you don't want to eat it - these are considered "gourmet' mushrooms and can sell for as much as $40 per pound in the better groceries (much like truffles) - then just pull and toss.

Your soil is fine although it may be a bit wet. Mushrooms are the fruits of the fungi that live in good healthy soils.
