I get a 3.5" or 4" starter container. Some people just use solo cups and cut holes in the bottom for drainage. Whatever. Buy some decent "potting" mix at the local garden center. You can buy "seed starting mix" if you want. Mix the potting mix with water so it is nice and damp, but not sopping wet. If it wont hold the water, it is too wet. Ok, fill the cups to with in a half inch of the top with with the potting mix. Then, take a tooth pick or something similar and poke it into the potting mix to about 1/4" deep. Then drop a seed in there and carefully push the soil over the hole. Plant 3-4 seeds per cup. Then keep them in a warm place at least house temps but 80-85 degrees is better. You don't need any light until they sprout. Keep the soil damp but not soaking. They should sprout in 5-10 days. If you keep them in the low 80s, they will sprout faster than if you keep them at room temps (70 or so). Some seeds dont germinate for two weeks or even longer but after about 10 days, the chances of them sprouting drops considerably. If you do it right, 9 of 10 seeds should sprout with in ten days. After the get an inch or two tall, you can cull the weaker ones out of each cup and just keep the strongest one.
