What is the sun situation like in this area? Pachy really prefers a shaded location and can yellow or discolor and grow very slowly if in much sun. It also needs a decently acidic soil.

Was gonna ask what the soil pH is on the top levels- all the fertilizer in the world won't help if the nutrients can't be absorbed.

We have a LOT of trees on our property, and the area was very shady, but we removed about 13-trees from the immediate area near the house. Trees are awesome, but not when you have 80-ft Oaks and Tulip Poplars 10-feet from your house leaning over your house. So, there is probably a little more sun. I'll monitor how much sun that area gets now and see if that area does get partial or even moderate sun. I'll also check the PH levels (take a bunch of samples) and post that back up here in a few days. Thanks for the input!!
