Late season snow

After a warm winter and early spring, we woke up to 6 inches of snow yesterday--certainly one of the bigger snowfalls we have had all season to this point. Our neighbors lost a fairly large pear tree that was in bloom...it just buckled under the weight of the ice and snow and came crashing down onto the sidewalk and street (fortunately nobody was walking or parked under it at the time). And the snow cover has stuck around all weekend, although it is finally starting to melt away. I think the bulbs will be okay for the most part. It's all the other perennials that got a running start that I'm worried about.
