I suggest you post this over on the kitchen board. There is a lot of activity there and some very smart creative people who would love to offer suggestions and point out issues. I know they will ask for a better layout - walls, windows, doors, room dimensions, and a better understanding of surrounding spaces and how your family functions too.

As far as keeping it simple, L-shaped kitchens are pretty easy to design and order the whole thing at even big box stores so you have that going for you.

Small note, you wont want the dishwasher right up against the corner. Consider standing at the sink and opening the dishwasher door. Also the corner cabinet would be inaccessible.

Another note, most people prefer a window in front of the sink. Less claustrophobic.
