The basket can be a darker wicker for some contrast. I've seen them at Homegoods, Target, Ctate and Barrel and pottery barn

So many lovely things here. But to my eye, too many horizontal lines. I wonder how the mirrors would look placed vertically behind the love seat? Opposite the window, it would be more light reflective and balanced. Also, I would definitely add long drapery panels on window for another vertical element. A large piece of colorful art would look nice where the mirrors are. I would lose some of the pillows. Two for the love seat, four for the sofa. I would take the end table out of the corner and put either a floor lamp or tall plant. Love the oval coffee table. I would put a small, low light plant on it in a colorful pot or flowers. The thermostat wall could have a gallery of family pics.

So, we need for a window treatment very light panels. The wall behind sofa needs a console and contemporary painting above. Unfortunately, you have to many pillows on your sofa, where your space is not to big, it makes to crowded.

Adrienne, I'd buy three pairs of curtains and a couple of different baskets. Return what doesn't work, keep what does. Otherwise you'll be spending all your time running back & forth. You're so close to finishing!

If you have a paint sample from your room absolutely bring that. Even a couch pillow. I have been known to bring a seat cushion. Makes it a lot easier by saving time and avoiding disappointment.

Re the no sheers advice, I think that depends on the view from the window (and obviously your taste). If you need privacy and want daylight I say definitely use sheers with panels on the side. If that isn't an issue you can go with just side panels, especially if you're trying to stay within a budget.

I have read ALL comments. My head is spinning. I agree that going to Homegoods with some items from your room will help you gather the other pieces you might be able use in this space. Take home more than you need( but really like) and then edit . You can always take back what you don't need as someone said. If you don't do this , you might be leaving something behind that will be scooped up by someone else. Good luck , and hope we get to see the space as it evolves into what you and your husband love!

You could add those colors to your own blue painting and have the same effect.

I realize that this room already has overhead lighting, but I would add a floor lamp. I really like the Threshold Pendant Floor Lamp from Target. I think it could look great in one of the corners. Bed Bath & Beyond have some frame sets you can purchase that come with the collage layout included, which makes the hanging process pretty easy!

I see crown-molding and/or paneling effects on the walls. It's a relatively small space... So, instead of trying to make it appear bigger - simply make it cozier! "Warmup-up" the walls with paneling effects, and a coordinated crown molding, will bring elegance to a small space and make the space more inviting and intimate.

I agree. A nice, wide crown molding & higher baseboards. You also need a pop of a third color. The brown & blue base is good, but is stagnant. You need to brake it up with third color, preferably a warm color - like tangerine.

Art work above the couch would be a nice touch. Tangerine or red accents with a throw or pillows and in the artwork would tie in nicely.

Sooo.... I had to take a break! Got a little overwhelming!!! I found a table to put under the wedding picture on the short wall... Is the table supposed to be longer than the picture or does it matter? I will soon have pictures!!

yes, the table should be wider than the picture.

I don't think I said it needs to be white, but the frame on the picture is white, so it might blend better. You do not have a lot of dark in the room, so it can go either way.

We all liked the picture above by lucidos, but you could go grey or even teal. Find something reasonable at Home Goods or Overstock. Read the reviews before buying.

So this is the table. I know it's supposed to be larger but.... This is all I am getting because I'm almost tapped out of cash for this room. What color should I paint the frame and what color for the table?

White diamond pearl of course :) You can achieve that by painting a pearlescent glaze over white. It will play beautifully with the tones in the picture.

Lucidos, do that for both the picture and the table? I'm assuming this is spray paint you are talking about right?

Actually I have horrible luck spray painting. There is always a drip. I prefer to use a small foam roller. What you would do is paint the pieces white then add the pearlescent glaze over it.

I'm not so sure of the white. Might look like a big ice cube. And the basket of pillows might become too much of a focal point. Why not go with a color close to the legs of your glass coffee table? Would help to give the new table a little weight (also easier to paint dark over dark than white over dark). If you want the frame to tie in more with the table you could paint the inside of the frame a lighter shade of the table. Assuming it's a brown wood tone go with a tan. Just do so very carefully. Use tape and a small brush.

I would love to see another colour added to the scheme. A picture above the couch would look nice and tie the place together along with some curtains. Lovely room.

Can't tell for sure, but the far left looks totally plain, am I right? The damask design looks a bit like a tablecloth to me. The ruched one is the most interesting on its own, but you would have to try it out. Pick the two you like the best and return one. You posted one earlier called Miranda that I thought was the nicest, but the choice is obviously yours.

You are going wall to wall with the curtains rather than just a panel on each side, right? I think it will look too skimpy otherwise. Curtains should look lush or none at all IMO. Is the rod expandable? Are you leaving the love seat in front of the window or is the couch back?

I like the Miranda, they are cream not white though. I don't understand the wall to wall curtains. Please explain.

Fill the space between the window to the end of the wall with curtain panels. Don't just hang one panel on each side. This might require a longer rod unless the one you have expands. Don't do this (assuming the copy/paste feature works):

Hi Adrienne, I read many comments, some which didn't show up in the room, but seemed good: grover's wedding art over sofa / keeping 'trim' mirrored effect / very neutral curtains / gallery wall and no desk needed ...good place to stop and look.

With soft neutral items and paint, what did you think of subtle accent paint behind the mirrors [JudyG's idea to alter the mirrors seemed worth a try], etc..

If you and hubby would like to soften the effect of the mirrors [I don't like eating in front of mirrors, but I can handle walking in I guess !] Especially if mirrors' frames are softened in color: maybe this surrounding them with artistic stencil look?

Hi Adrienne, I was thinking of you yesterday. Did you ever finish the room? Any pictures? I need to start closing "discussions" as they are overwhelming my inbox but wanted to know how you made out.

Artwork and curtains

First, and most important this room needs an illusion, that it is much bigger!!!! So, the window treatment installations must be, as high as it is-possible. Next, the panels should go 15" inches out from the frame of the windows on both sides Than, you have to many pillows on the sofa, therefore you need consistency, that will create the organized interest. Moreover, you need a bigger mirror and an art work, as well. Finally, the area rug should be much bigger to give you look of the bigger space.

One of the first things I liked about this room, and I did like it, as originally posted, was its small, cosy space. I could see it as a wonderful place for friends to get together and talk. Not every space has to look big. But oh I'd love to see what it looks like now.
