Whenever I approach our house from this direction, this wall seems really blank. I want to plant something that will grow up vertically, but stay within that limited lateral space.

All of our front yard consists of drought tolerant plants. Presently in that corner you can see a Cleveland sage that was recently attacked by aphids ( hope it survives) and a red dragon plant which we had indoors for ten years and now outdoors is growing very slowly.

There is also an electrical outlet there which should stay accessible.

The only thing I could think of are cactus.

Any other suggestions?
