The tray I bought is Ready Rooter

A heated set-up with a dome is not intended for outdoor use at any time. If you placed it in the sun the temperature inside would rise dramatically and your seedlings would boil to death. Not to mention the risk of using an electrical appliance outdoors. It is essentially for indoor germination only (not for growing seedlings on.) Read up on the FAQs at the top of the page which will help you with seed starting basics. When you've done that and if you have further specific questions come back to us. We also need to know your geographical location and what sorts of seeds you are starting to give useful advice. Depending on where you live it could be too late, too early or just the right time to start plants from seed.

(I tried to find info on 'ready rooter' and couldn't find any. Did you mean 'rapid rooter'? If not can you show a picture of the set up?)

Lol...yeah...I meant rapid rooter. So basically these guys at the store pulled one over on me.

Location is Stockton, Ca. And I'm trying to grow green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, zuccini, onions, and a cpl peppers. Tbh...I really don't have hope for the peppers.

Also, I ended up moving the tray inside for the night cause it's a bit chilly and I thought the mat would be useless outside at night. Would I be able to keep it outside during the day without the mat. They had mention hardening the plant if I kept it inside the whole time and said I can avoid doing that if I kept the tray outside.

Also current temp outside is between mid 60s to low 70s.

I can't really comment much further since I don't know your climate. Your current temperatures would be high summer where I garden.

I would not use the set up outside even without the heat mat since sun shining through the plastic dome would fry your seeds.

The veggies you are trying to grow need a variety of different germination temps and lettuce specifically will not germinate at high temps, so putting them all together in a heated propagator is not ideal. Beans I should think you could direct sow by now.

Agree with floral. The set up you have is for indoors only. Beans, cucumbers, zucchini, and lettuce can be direct sown in your garden. The peppers and tomatoes are the only things you need to start ahead. I have no idea about gardening in California but the cukes, beans, and zukes are planted after your average last frost date. For these it is the nighttime temps and soil temps that are important to watch, not the daytime highs.
