Just a little confused...are you trying to decide between a white kitchen or an espresso kitchen? Or did you mean that you want white cabinets with an espresso island? (Which I've seen and is quite pretty by the way). If that is the case, I would suggest a taupe or chocolate glaze on both to tie them together. Stark white against the espresso will look mismatched, but if both are glazed it will look cohesive. The only other suggestion I might make is to add a corner cabinet against the wall by the window (if there is room--hard to tell in the photo) which will give a look of continuity. One other way to add a little bit more drama is to stagger the height and depth of the cabinets. Put a little taller cabinet over the microwave, and bump it out a little. You can do the same thing over the fridge. Good luck!!

Is this kind of the look you are going for? Notice the bump ups and the bump outs on some the cabinets? High style without a lot of extra cost.

Do not glaze your white cabinets that is not only a dated look but they always look dirty
