Mealy Bugs

I saw an interesting bit of info in Wikipedia :

"Ladybird larvae and adults feed on mealybugs, and can be used to control an infestation".
Now that it's Spring, I've seen these beautiful orange bugs in my yard. They're all over the place. SO.....
If you think your AV's are infested, put a few of these ladybugs (or ladybirds, as some call them) on them and watch them feast.

That might do for foliar mealybugs but I don't think ladybugs would do much for soil mealies.

OTOH, I can attest that they do well to clean up a thrips infestation. Years ago I had some Asian lady bird beetles find their way indoors and on their own they gravitated to my light stand. Next thing I knew, my very first thrip infestation was history and I've never seen them on my AV's since.
