We are slowly putting together the living room in our new house (first photo). The second photo shows detail of the coffee table. We are considering these old end tables (third photo). They would be painted white and have a pretty scroll type applique added to the fronts. Would these work on either side of the sofa? They are 26" wide, 18" deep and 30" high. The arm of the couch is 23" high, the back is 33" high and it is 41" deep. The cardboard boxes to the right of the couch approximate the height of the white tables. Too tall? Also, they are a lot less deep than the couch. Should they be placed back against the wall or perhaps towards the front of the arm of the couch? That would leave dead space behind the tables though, and the lamp cords would be exposed if you walked around and looked behind the tables. The coffee table is 23" high. Also, the lamp on top of the boxes is a brassy bronze. Would those work on the end tables? Thanks for any help you can give!
