The Mauritius bloomed, but the wind killed it. Then it started producing new growth, but the wind killed it too. Now it is back to blooming.

I don't think the lychee requires cold weather to bloom. Next year I will perform an experiment to get the lychee to bloom off season if the lychee doesn't bloom.
