They can still ripen now, I find they start ripening faster when the nighttime temperatures get close to 70.. I usually put 80% shade cloth directly over them (and some facing south) starting about this time of the year although all the varieties I've tried will stop growing new tomatoes from May to August.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep on eye on them. Cloth is up, and I'm seeing new buds on the plants.

I had a roma & cherry plant that each made fruit all the way into August last year! Much to my surprise after everyone on this forum stating that flowers won't set fruit above a certain temperature . . . either I have the PERFECT tomato patch or there is something more to this . . .

Either way, both of my plants are still alive this year (2nd year) after trimming back to a few main trunks - AND they each seem to have sown new seedlings from fallen fruit from last season . . .

In my experience, only once it became BLAST FURNACE did the fruit seem to split, but I had no problem allowing all fruits to ripen red on the vine :-D Good Luck to you & your crop!

Only pull your fruit if you think the birds and rats are going to make off with it shortly. Otherwise, let it ride and it will quickly ripen in the heat.
