Also want source of ladder

I was recenly in the market for a small step stool like this. I read all the reader reviews I could find on every stool I found on line. Every single one of them had reports of the stool collapsing during use.

Does that include the williams sonoma stool?

Thanks for the link to that stool from the container store. That one is a steel one, and I read no comments in the reviews about collapsing stools. However, it is only rated for 225 lbs, which might be a factor for some people. I might give it a try, but it doesn't appear to fold as small as the plastic ones I have seen. The container store also sells a plastic one. At least 3 of the 40 some reviews for the plastic one reported cracking. I think I will stay away from the plastic stools, even though they look so very handy.

Lifeseyephoto - when you asked about the Williams Sonoma stool, were you referring to their aluminum one? I checked that one out and really liked the looks of it. But one reviewer reported a capscrew shearing off which allowed the step to fall off during use. Bottom line to me is that while many of these stools look great and appear to be handy, one fall could wipe out all of the benefits. I am too old for a broken hip! Before I decide which one to order, I sort the reviews from lowest to highest ratings. There is a lot of good info in those 1 star ratings!

jlouise, I completely agree a plastic step stool would be thinner & also less sturdy. Mine measures about 1 1/4" when folded. Currently it slides between the end of a counter run & my fridge. But with my kitchen remodel about to start, I've been looking at ideas of where to store it. I'm hoping it will fit in my kitchen's adjacent laundry room but if not, this option should work in my small kitchen. The attached image is the one I bought. Good luck though with your decision!
