First, get ride of the raised floor and resulting stumble step in the living room so you have a level floor.

HI -- You have not told us anything to go by. What style direction are you going to ? How much are you doing such as gutting the kitchen and for what ? Are you changing the layout ? The house is dated in way of the kitchen style and the colors and fixtures . Are you changing the floors or any of the windows ? Help us out with your wants and plans and how much your wanting to do , because I could gut the whole place if I could !!
