Shower window help!

Hi all,

We're currently in a remodel of our first floor which includes that master bedroom and master bath. We have one of the ever popular 90's whirlpool tubs that we are removing and building a large shower in its place. As you can see in the photo there is a LARGE window which will be one wall of the shower. The window looks out to our neighbor who is up the hill slightly from us. We need to do something with the window. It currently does not open. Just great for light as the other bathroom window is smaller and in the toilet closet. We want to have a window for natural light. Switching to transom windows will only take away light and will not help with the privacy issue. We are not fans of the glass blocks... Any other solutions?!

Also, is it worth making it a window that would open? We would need to do an awning window due to the privacy aspect. We also live in upstate NY- only a few months out of the year where you would want an open window in the shower. We will have adequate ventilation through fans.

We're meeting with our contractor this weekend but wanted to have a few ideas and concepts before talking with him.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!
