You may want to consider a custom island that can be integrated into your pantry wall. Unsure how it would work for you. Either a slide out shelf you can utilize as a bar/island to place food bags after shopping, to cut food for a meal or to assemble projects. Research ideas by designers and architects. They really have some of the best solutions. Also, check your local cabinet maker for bids. Best of luck!

Second idea would be an island which can double as a breakfast bar.

As the plans show, we eliminated the linen closet(broom) range and oven alone pantry wall. We are thinking about a 8 ft. Island but not sure which way to position it.
