These seems to be my options

Fine Bark at $11-12 for 2 CU

MG Natures Raised Bed @ HD - $6 for 1.5 CU

Promix BX at $30 for 3.8 Compressed.

I've got a 10 pack of 15 Root Pouches waiting to be filled ;-/

I also live in NYC. wondering where i can get turface as well. where did you find the bark fines?

I've yet to confirm, but based on past postings, Gowanus Nursery has them at $12 per 2CU. Seems like 2X more than where it should be...if not then some.

Agway in Hicksville seems to be closed down.

I'm probably headed over Hicks this weekend to see some peren. They might have it there -?, but Hicks it not exactly cheap either.

at this point i would be willing to spend the 12 bucks for pine bark. it doesn't seem to exist anywhere in NYC besides potentially Gowanus Nursery (i just emailed them, but they are closed monday-wednesday)

this guy seems to be the only person online selling pine bark fines. at his price, 2 cubic feet would roughly cost $168 plus shipping. its infuriating.

i'll keep you posted about GN if they respond to me.

I've got a ten pack of 15 gallon pouches. I think the Promix might be about the same price if not better per CU when all said and done. I popped into a shop or 2 over in Jersey City this weekend. No dice

I tried the bark fines @ gowanus nursery a few years ago and they were much too fine. Not sure if they still have the same kind, but see if you can get a look at them before purchase.

There's a number of agway distributors in new jersey and long island if you have access to a car. Agway pine bark mulch is $2-3 per cu foot.

Reptibark is often available either in pet stores or online on sale for $17-18/cu foot (including shipping, amazon prime, other vendors).

Gowanus nursery has sold me turface in the past, not an actual 50 lb bag, but a decent amount in a sack for maybe $10, they don't always have it, they use it for some of their own plants but don't explicitly retail it.

You can also look up "bonsai of brooklyn" he sells turface, or did last time I checked.

Agway in Hicksville is closed. I believe the closest one would be the Agway in Morristown

I recently gave up and bought everything online. Turface from ebay, manna pro granite and reptibark from amazon (i have prime). It ends up being quite expensive. I emailed gowanus nursery and they told me they don't have any in stock but are working on it. my uncle also lives upstate and I had him search a local agway for pine barks but found nothing. basically, you have to get everything online

I've got prime as well but would have just resorted to Promix if I had to spend the spend..

at least this will spare me the trouble of carrying a 2 cu ft bag of pine bark from gowanus to queens
