Let's say conifer received from nursery

It get's watered from the hose - aka, chlorine is added to city water

Does this mean a instant - death sentence- for whatever mycellium and what not that would be present in the existing potted plant. And or is this more like long term watering as such.

Everything is on drip on tap in the garden ....so it's not given much thought...

Only thinking about this now when I am doing a hand water.....in which I do use this chem that meants for fish tanks and what not where it --supposedly-- mitigate the chlorine. Few drops per gallon neutralizes the chlorine instantly
