No rows and no alternating. Cluster them in odd numbers. Maybe two talls and a short or two shorts and a tall. On the patio not the beds. Perhaps flanking where the paths join the circle.

What are you going to put in all these pots? Will you have any other things in that area, like seating? :)

A taller pot would look great on either side of the bottom steps leading up to the deck. Re-arrange the hose box and other items on the right to accommodate the right pot.

Do you plan to put furniture or anything else on the small round patio? If yes, put that there first then experiment with planter(s) in that area and where the paths joins the circle.

The nice thing about pots is that they are portable and you can continue to finesse the placement throughout the season.

Take photos during the season so you can remember for next year what worked and what you would like to change (plant color, plant types, plant combos, etc.). Post photos here too!
