I love this house. A total inspiration for a mansard remodel of my own. What I love is the balance, high end materials, and front doors that look so hollywood regency. Can you please describe the style of this home and any influences in the the design? AND please share the height of the front doors, and if this is a one or two story home. Thanks!

Hi Amy,

Yes, this is indeed a one-level residence. Inspired by French-style architecture, we incorporated a high mansard roof to create a scale that reflected this aesthetic. One historical precedent that stands out as a source of inspiration for this project is l'Aile des Ecuries by Jacques-Francois Blondel. This project is notable because we were able to capture the essence of the French style in a contemporary, single-level residence in Atherton, California.
