Maybe I'm misunderstanding your description here, but putting "round wood spindles" on that stairway sounds -- how can I say this in the nicest possible way-- well, it sounds like the dumbest suggestion ever. Seriously thoughtless and just stupid.

So did you ever paint or stain anything, including walls? If so, do you have new photos?

I agree with mfwolfe above. Real estate agents think, first and foremost, of resale value. And any real estate agent will tell you that most (not all) potential buyers have ho-hum taste and little imagination. Why do you think people now hire "stagers" before they put their house on the market-- because the average person has zero vision-- so the home is "staged" to be as bland as possible to help the average unimaginative buyer.

Anyway-- I stand by all I said before. Love this railing as is-- unless you want to paint or stain-- and would never remove or cover it.
