I would consider a prairie bungalow style, it is very classic, clean and dramatic version of a bungalow, classic to American architecture.

Your roofline already lends itself to this style as do your current windows. I did a search for 'prairie bungalow' to find the above images and should give you some inspiration for house style and also landscaping that suits your preferences.This image has a very dramatic entry with pillars, door style and landscaping. I would consider moving the plantings into a more angular configuration, perhaps create a more patio like environment out front as in this image. I would carry the landscape design across the front of the whole house, incorporating the large tree, and bringing the details forward into your expanse of lawn, as your current landscaping just focuses on the area between the entry and driveway.

Think angular shapes. Get rid of the rounded walkway and little bushes. Instead thing big rectangles for a sidewalk.

I realize this is a super old thread, but wondering if the OP finalized any changes to the front of this lovely home. Would love to see pics of your updates.

Ahh you want to “transitionalize” it rather than “modernize” it. I would go with something that is in line with your interior style.
