It can certainly be done if the sofas are not totally different in design, or scale. I would prefer a coral or light blue or apple green leather sofa to a dark brown one, mixed with the white sofa. In other words, make sure that they can live happily together, and do a nice exchange of colored pillows between the two of them.

If the leather is light in color and style similar it would work. Certainly you can mix but the tones are essential to flow. A dark leather would look heavy against a white or light colored covered sofa. Think of it as heavy clothes for winter and lighter ones for summer.
