Hi, if you mean yellow river granite, I think that would work well with your dark cabinets. A relative had dark granite and I found it to show every water drop or wash cloth swipe, until it dried. I have LG hausy minuet which is a white marble and I have dark quarter sawn oak cabinets, very classic and I would suggest this yellow river granite instead of something as dark as black.

Your cabinets are dark, and you have black appliances, so you want to stick with the lighter colored granites.

What color is the floor?

I heartily agree with comments above that you need lighter colored granite. Black would be scary in a kitchen that is already so dark! As it is, the cabinets soak up a lot of available light. Do you have undercabinet LED's? A light tumbled marble backsplash that goes from countertop to upper cabinet would look great in there, too.

Different view of my cabinets and countertops. I also can't decide on window treatments. I have a door that goes out to a deck and also two very large windows with transom windows across the top. Should all be matching or mixed? We have a beautiful view out this side of the house and we are in a very private location, the problem comes in late afternoon with the intense sunshine.

I had the same window dilemma, I used matching tie up valances. So pleased I continued in both adjoining rooms.

Your first picture looks quite dark but your subsequent pictures don't, so I think you could go dark or light. We have similarly toned cabinets and floor, and our counter is dark (jet mist), our backsplash is white and we have plenty of light so it works well and does not appear dark. (Our appliances are stainless not black though). I would do a tile backsplash without the 4 inch backsplash that you currently have. A darker granite will work if the backsplash is light. I can't post pics of my kitchen right now as I'm not home but can do so later if you want to see how the color combination works for us.

Truth be told, I probably would have gone with a lighter granite but husband really wanted darker. The jet mist was a compromise over a solid black and has worked well for us.

Light granite and a warm one. If you want yellow, go for it.

The granite looks nice. I'd change out the sink rug so that it matches the runner.
