I doubt that yours have reseeded, PopMama, at least mine never have. But they spread by surprisingly fine roots--don't know if they're technically rhizomes or not--and mine has spread all the way underneath a 14-16" square concrete planter that's on one side of them, so if the ones you're finding in your grass are within a couple feet of the main patch, my guess would be that that's how they got there. If they're further away than that, I guess maybe they really did reseed. Just surprised it's never happened to me, when I have forget-me-nots that seed all over in the grass.

To answer your question, mine are growing right against the north side of a two story house, so the only time they get direct sun is in summer when it's high enough in the sky to hit that area. So, yes, you can definitely grow them in shade--even virtually full shade. They can take pretty much any light conditions, but in full sun I think they'd want to be watered fairly often. Even in shade I keep mine pretty wet, and they seem to love it!

So move them anywhere--but just remember that wherever you start some, they're going to once again start to s-p-r-e-a-d!

Mine are budding now, and I can't wait to see them in full bloom!

I will probably move some to the shady side of yard then.
