No, it's absolutely not safe. It could be safer, but the energy corporations won't spend extra money to drill responsibly. It would cut into the billions they make every quarter. And now, there's talk of selling our natural gas to China (if it hasn't already happened). Yup, "Drill, baby, drill!" indeed.

There is a site right behind my house. Fracked twice in 6 years, 12 tanks, huge compressor. Semi traffic and huge compressor going 24/7. We've been evacuated several times. There are explosions and fatalities at sites all over the US, very rarely reported. The energy companies here have very limited regulations ... they run the Railroad Commision, EPA, etc. They pay off select politicians, and answer to no one.

I was talking to an executive of the company that drilled behind our house, and asked him if he'd want to live near a drilling site. He answered, "No way, I wouldn't want one near my family". You'll never see any of them or politicians living near one, or a site being drilled near them. It must be nice. When my neighbors and I protested our site (they could have put it on a 100 acre+ property with no houses nearby, instead they chose a 5 acre plot behind our fences), we were basically laughed at.

And neither are the pipelines transporting the stuff.

No, but I do know fracking is not dangerous, Just like everyone else we move with Technology. If you don't move with technology then you're in the dust bin your not learning and growing to the times.

In your second to last paragraph, I think some companies only care about the prophets and move on and leave a feild of poison in their wake, It happens all the time, and others companies care about the invierment and there for take the extra time to make sure they leave it as they found it.
For the ones who just skate over the laws, and WILLFULLY DUMP Poisons into the rivers, lakes, and other public places and not take care of them PROPERLY should not just be able to pay a small fine but should be thrown into jail ALONG with the Politicians who are corrupt and are deceitful.

Nikolai, you need to visit northern West Virginia where fracking is literally killing people. The air, the water, the soil are all poisoned. There actually are host families in Wetzel county who take in people who want to see what it all looks like first hand. You'd change your tune fast enough.
